Ingredients
- 1 flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
- 2 french baguettes, cut in half
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 slices gouda cheese, or white cheddar
- A1 steak sauce
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat and saute the onions until caramelized, 20 minutes. Add the balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt, stir to combine, and transfer to a small bowl. Broil the baguettes until slightly browned. Then to the same skillet, add the flank steak and cook until just browned, 5 minutes. Take the baguettes, brush with about a tablespoon each of A1 sauce, and top with the steak, onions, and gouda cheese. Return to the broiler until the cheese is melted.
