Ingredients
  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 4 slices bacon, chopped
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. 2 jalapenos, chopped fine
  5. 4 garlic cloves, minced
  6. 1 tablespoon chili powder
  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  8. 1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander
  9. 1 cup beer, lager
  10. 1 cup tomato sauce
  11. 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  12. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  13. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  14. 1 tablespoon hot sauce, I used Franks
  15. 4 burger buns
  16. pickled jalapenos, optional for topping
Instructions
  1. In a large pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a plate lined with paper towel. Add the ground beef to the pan and break apart using a spoon. Cook until browned, 10 minutes, and season with salt and pepper. Return the bacon to the pan along with the onion, jalapenos, garlic, chili powder, cumin and coriander. Cook until the onion is soft, 7 minutes. In a medium bowl, combine the beer, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and hot sauce. Pour over the meat and simmer until thick, 15 minutes. Using a large spoon, spoon mixture onto toasted buns. Top with pickled jalapeno slices if you wish or crushed Fritos as Rachel Ray does!
